In 1481, Leonardo abruptly stopped his Adoration of the Magi. He then began his original Virgin of the Rocks. What happened? The Platonic Academy of Florence offered Leonardo insights into the ‘heresies’ of Early Christianity. What was Leonardo really depicting in his original Virgin of the Rocks? Get ready for an entertaining art history journey exploring paintings by several Renaissance artists who supported this ‘heresy.’ Andrew has been a featured speaker at the Springfield Art Museum and for other cultural organizations in numerous cities.

25 (Sun) Leonardo’s Virgin of the Rocks Montpelier VT, An Esoteric Christmas Story. Why were there two paintings? What was Leonardo attempting to depict in the original Virgin of the Rocks? Which one is the original? Get ready for an entertaining journey exploring how Florentine schools sought to revive the ancient mysteries. Dan Brown fans and art historians will enjoy this mystery adventure! 3:30 PM to 5 PM, The Old Meeting House, 1620 Center Road, Montpelier, VT.
27 (Tues) Renaissance 2.0 and Steiner’s Surprising View of the Future. Massive change is underway in the fields of science, art, and religion. Michaelites are here! So much is near at hand. At first, Ray Kurzweil (The Singularity is Near) and Rudolf Steiner would seem to be polar opposites. Andrew Linnell, former CTO of OmegaBand and a 42-year veteran of the computer industry will explore how similar yet different these two views of the future are. We’ll cover the dramatic changes foretold by Spiritual Science for the Post-Atlantean ages. Rudolf Steiner spoke similarly to modern concerns on job loss, social chaos, and merger with machines, e.g. the “welding together of Mankind with machines will be a great and important problem for the rest of the earth-evolution.” The Wrong and Right Use of Esoteric Knowledge, Lecture 3, 25Nov1917. 7:30 PM to 9 PM, The Old Meeting House, 1620 Center Road, Montpelier, VT.

19 (Sat) Vulcan Beings and the Future of the Human Body, Cain and the Western Esoteric Path, Lecture 7:30 – 9 pm. Location TBD. “Supermen of Vulcan, Supermen of Venus, of Mercury, of the Sun, will unite with earth-existence. But if human beings persist in nothing but opposition to them, earth-existence will pass over into chaos in the course of the next few 1000 years.” — Rudolf Steiner, A Picture of Earth-Evolution in the Future, May 13, 1921, GA 204. Futurologists such as Ray Kurzweil predict a time is coming when humans will merge with robotics. Rudolf Steiner’s similar statement is the “welding together of Mankind with machines will be a great and important problem for the rest of the earth-evolution.” The Wrong and Right Use of Esoteric Knowledge, Lecture 3, Nov. 25, 1917. We will explore the help being offered by Vulcan beings – but do they intend to merge us with machines?

TECHNOLOGY and SPIRITUAL SCIENCE STUDY GROUP
An online study group(perhaps two if we overflow) that will use Zoom (similar to Skype) for up to 12 people will study together the subject of Technology and Spiritual Science. This is perhaps the most important question of our times especially for the West.
The group will start in early January on a weekday and at a time that works for most of the participants. We will meet for only 30 minutes each time, but we will have a 30-minute reading assignment (from a Steiner lecture) each week as well. If you would like to commit to participating for the January through March period, message me (jandrewlinnell [at] yahoo.com). We will assess at the close of each quarter how to continue.
Please, in your message, state what day/times are best as well as what days/times do not work for you. Zoom software will not post ads to you. It will allow us to meet with video conferencing for 30 minutes with 5 minutes on each end. It is best but not necessary to have a PC, laptop, or Mac with a video camera and mic so that participants can see each other. There will also be a telephone only method of access. The simple instructions will be sent to all participants.
(Booking future events now) – send me a message if you would like to book a lecture or workshop.
